Hi – I am looking to work with a training partner on the Tiger Chess opening repertoire. I’d like to try and find an hour or two a week, pick a position and meet up (on Lichess or chess.com) and play some rapid games (10 min?) with both colors and then discuss some themes ideas based on Nigel’s videos or any other material we may have at our disposal. I’m 2000 strength so it would be good to be around that level. I realize this is very similar to the themed training tournaments Nigel runs but I can almost never make them:( Anyone interested? Please email me at prof.sneed @gmail.com.

    Thanks,

    Joel

The book will be much more in line with the Tiger chess approach emphasizing playing typical CK structures rather than variations but it should be good (if I ever finish it!).

Yes that’s me. Also, I wrote Lessons with a Grandmasters Vol. 1-3 (Everyman Chess) and Analyzing the Chess Mind with GM Boris Gulko (Quality Chess), which just came out.

This is why I have tended to avoid he KID and Gruenfeld with the Colle/London. I actually play and really like those lines you refer to Ulrich. I think Lakdawala calls it the Ostrich. You threaten to transpose into the Pirc (if they stick with their KID set up) and if the play d7-d5 you play b2-b4, which I think is a transposition to the Speckled Egg? Anyway, I know I am supposed to start allowing people to play their systems like the KID and Gruenfeld but I would so much rather play what I want to play instead of playing what they want to play. I hate the counterplay they get in those systems period.

    Hi Everyone,

I just became a premium member. I haven’t been training so trying to get back into it. Like going to the gym after a long break. Today I created a lichess account.

    18 puzzles/ 2132 rating

Will try to do 7-10 per day. Look forward to posting more.
