LESSONS

Private lessons can be of great benefit in clarifying the improvement process and tailored to a student's individual requirements. Here are some examples of lesson topics:

i) Game assessments and general advice about the direction to take.
ii) Going through games in which students guess particular moves and explain their reasoning.
iii) Student requests.
iv) Opening repertoire development, ideally with a student's choices focusing on plans and concepts so as to nurture middle game understanding.
v) Analysis of several student games.
vi) Looking through a large batch of internet games, picking out any important points.
vii) Looking at a new strategic concept, backed up by example games.

Please note that no shows and any technical problems are not rescheduled so please check your sound before any lesson. It is also advisable to download any updates to Zoom well in advance.

In the case of 'emergencies' that mean you are too late to reschedule a lesson, really cannot make the slot or have insuperable technical difficulties, please send Nigel some questions and/or games to annotate so you get some value out of the scheduled time. It is good practice to do this before each and every lesson. Alternative you can just cancel, but this incurs a £15 charge to be deducted from the refunded lesson fee.
